Challenge
Overview
simFlight partnered with our team to develop a desktop app that integrated the full functionality of simMarket's 20-year-old online store with a new, built-in add-on installation process. Our work also focused on delivering a modern, user-friendly interface that makes it easy for users to navigate and manage their flight simulators.
Design System
Our collaboration started by carefully crafting a design system to ensure a consistent and intuitive interface across every screen of simMarket's desktop app.
Tech Stack
This project was an amazing technical challenge because simMarket already had its mature Shop built on top of PHP with TWIG and we had to find a way to properly migrate all existing functionalities into an API for the App in order to build the new custom add-on Installer. We decided to build the App with Electron, which allowed us to build a cross-platform App with Vue.js under the hood for efficiency and speed.

Our next step was designing the main screen of the app, which serves as the entry point to the simMarket app. It was carefully built to feel dynamic, featuring real-time updates and a modern virtual style that immediately engages users and encourages exploration of flight simulation products.
We liked their tight workflow and the sensibility to understand our side and our business. We were so very pleased that we decided to contract Concealed to do another project for us.

One of the most important sections of this app is the checkout. With this in mind, our team designed the checkout flow to be intuitive and efficient, guiding users through three simple steps: add to cart, enter billing information and complete payment. This streamlined process ensures a smooth and hassle-free purchasing experience.
Library
An add-on library that stands out
simMarker's library is what sets it apart from an ordinary shopping experience. By allowing users to download and install flight simulation add-ons directly within the app and receive real-time feedback and notifications throughout the installation process, it truly feels engaging and seamless.

Gifting made easy
simMarket users can purchase vouchers for friends, each represented by a unique card that stands out from other app products. This thoughtful design enhances the gifting experience while keeping it visually engaging and memorable.
